How I came to be a Home-Based Travel Agent was practically a work of magic. I've always had an entrepreneurial spirit but I never knew what exactly MY business would be. In late 2018 I started researching home businesses. At first, I had plans on being a blogger- just a blogger. Because well, I love to write! The more I searched, read and investigated the clearer the path became. As my regular 9-5 job became increasingly more toxic, it was evident that there was no time like the present to start my own company and be my own boss.
I've been traveling since I was around 2 years old. My parents both love travel and we often spent family vacations on Cruises and at Theme Parks. So, it's no surprise that I have an innate love for travel as well. After hours of investigation I chose my host agency- nightmare of a process by the way- and so was born, Lowder Travel.
I'm a Florida native- so the sun, sand & beach are my second home. My parents took my brother and I on cruises for family vacations growing up, and they were an absolute dream. I convinced my husband, Josh, to take a cruise for our honeymoon in 2014 and just like that he was hooked too. We've been cruising for our anniversary ever since! With my love for cruises and specifically the Caribbean, it was obvious that helping clients plan a cruise would be something I would truly enjoy doing on a daily basis.

But lets be honest, it wasn't that easy! I had absolutely NO idea what starting a travel business entailed. Truthfully, I was just excited to be able to take FAM trips and get travel agent discounts while helping others enjoy amazing vacations.Little did I know how much I didn't know about traveling and the industry as a whole. I'm still learning. Every. Single. Day. The travel industry is a monster of information to obtain, but I am slowly chipping away at the knowledge that is available.
I'm learning how to work with suppliers, and utilize promotions. I've made great strides in Social Media engagement and connecting with fellow small business owners to interact with. Ultimately my goal is to help families, friends, Bride's, & social groups plan the trip of a lifetime. So far I think I'm doing pretty well.

Today I saw posts on social media from a client enjoying an all-inclusive resort in the beautiful Caribbean-one of my first bookings. The client told me when they get home they want to plan next years trip. I also spent over an hour on the phone with a supplier helping another client change their itinerary due to travel hazards at their original destination of choice. I was able to save them time and money- and that is what makes my job worth while.
Personalized customer service is something I've always been a fan of, long before my endeavor into the travel biz. Seeing so many businesses with poor customer service is such a shame. One of the biggest goals with my company is to provide the best service possible. I am so grateful to my current clients for giving me a chance to prove to them that even a rookie travel agent can successfully book a great vacation. I also want to welcome all of my potential clients, I can't wait to work with you and create your dream vacation!
